ART ?  - what we love or hate in art is an entirely subjective thing.
I love what I think of as beautiful in one way or another.
"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life" - Pablo Picasso

ARTISTS OF YORE

TOP OF MY ARTISTS OF YORE IS
JOHN SINGER SARGENT : I think he is my 'perfect artists/painter and I endeavour any time I am in London to go to the NPG and stand awhile at his "General Officers of World War 1" - a remarkable gigantic figure composition. Born in Florence in 1856, his paintings tell stories to me just like Jack Vetrianno does today - see the right hand column

ANDREA DEL SARTO
MICHELANGELO
SANDRO BOTTICELLI
WILLIAM HOLMAN HUNT
ILYA REPIN
PABLO PICASSO
PIETER BREUGEL
Breugel was the favourite of my late husband Richard Davies who never tired of exploring the detail of "Hunters in The Snow".
GEORGE HENRY
EDWARD HORNEL
NORMAN ROCKWELL
MAXFIELD PARRISH

ARTISTS OF TODAY

TOP OF MY ARTISTS OF TODAY IS
JACK VETRIANNO
I just love his work - who wouldn't want to dance on the beach or drink champagne in the bath? Charismatic, clever, unique. His style (as a self taught artist) is all his own. Like John Singer Sargent he "tells me a story" in every painting. He gets a pasting from so-called  'art critics' - I hope he roars like a howler monkey, with laughter.

MARK LITOBARSKI
My son-in-law and a great contemporary painter of both cityscape and landscape, and a fine pastel artist.
SORAYA FRENCH
Incredible vibrant colours
ANN BLANKSON-HEMANS
From Ghana - a great portrait painter
CATHERINE INGLES
Another great portrait painter (people and animals)
ALI LINDLEY
Watercolour
ROBERT BATEMAN
One of the great animal artists

ANDREW WARD
An old schoolfriend and an inspired artist
